Go and See Visits
 | | Visitors at Origin (Photo - Dave Ashton) |
This is a suggested list of visits for Go and See visits for groups which will enable Highlands and Islands makers to see the wider selling and exhibiting opportunities that exist both in this area and further afield.
If at all possible, we are keen that Highland makers attend visits as a group and we will assist with coordinating the visits.
We would also like to encourage visits by groups of retailers, gallery staff and Craft Associations.
The visits will help build networks and will also seek to raise standards in terms of quality and professionalism.
Promotion will be through our website and at Makers events.
Financial assistance could be in the form of a bursary towards travel and accommodation costs.
For example: £50 for day trips up to 150 miles, £100 for trips that include one overnight and £150 for two. Under exceptional circumstances this could be tailored to individual needs e.g when ferry or longer travel is needed.
Please see below a suggested list of Go and See visits for groups, individuals, gallery owners and retailers.
For more details on how to apply for financial assistance towards travel costs please see the downloadable files entitled 'Go and See Application Form' and 'Go and See Guidelines' at the right hand side of this page or contact Pamela Conacher at pamela@hi-arts.co.uk
We also ask those makers who have applied for Go and See Funding to report back after their visits and how it their trips were of benefit.
To read reports from Makers who have already taken advantage of Go and See funding please see the links below:
