'Salt of the Earth' Screening

Salt of the Earth, to be screened Hogmanay 2007 and early 2008, is a film documentary/montage by acclaimed director Don Coutts following photographer Craig MacKay as he goes about creating a portrait photograph – researching, making contact, interviewing, arranging the sitting and finally ‘the shoot’.

New Media Scotland appoints new Executive Director

New Media Scotland, the national art, science and technology development organisation working across the creative industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Daniels as its new Executive Director with effect from January 7th 2008. In his new role Mark will work in partnership with the Board of Directors, leading the organisation in the advocacy, development and delivery of art, science and technology provision throughout Scotland into an exciting new era.

Writers Receive Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowships

Five Scottish-based writers have been awarded the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship, giving them the opportunity to spend at least one month at the Hôtel Chevillon at Grez-sur-Loing in France to concentrate on a new writing project. The successful Fellows were announced today - Monday 3 December – marking the anniversary of Stevenson’s death in 1894.
