ALT.blues terrorists RADIOTONES play the The Twa Tams,
Scott Street, Perth on Saturday 19 June with support from fast-rising Glasgow
singer/songwriter Roddy Hart
The band has recently revamped it's website (at www.radiotones.com) which now includes an
MP3 download shop so visitors have the chance to preview, buy and download their
favourite tracks as well as purchase 'hard product' CDs and merchandise from the
website's
existing secure online store.
While many Scottish independent acts are selling MP3 downloads via third
party websites (like iTunes, Wippit, MyCokeMusic etc) few, if any, are selling
direct from their website. Radiotones already sells more hard product CDs online
than it does through UK stores,
so is experiencing first hand how the
internet is revolutionising the record sales model and allowing the independent
artists and small record labels to deal direct with fans.
RADIOTONES' latest album, Bound to Ride is the first featuring electric
guitar and drums and builds on the exciting new sound showcased on the band's
2002 single Bring my Baby Back as well as a track (One More Heartbreak) recorded
for Eagle Records' recently released Frankie Miller tribute album. The
internationally acclaimed Gravel Road (1998) and Whiskey'd Up (2000) are
acoustic albums.
