01 October 2004
The sixth Tales at Martinmas brings another entertaining mix of stories, music and song to venues across Ross & Cromarty from 11th-14th November. This year the focus is on the strong historic links between the Gael and our Norse neighbours.
Making a welcome return to the Festival are Orkney's Tom Muir and Shetland's Lawrence Tulloch, both engaging bearers of their island tales and traditions. They are joined by Cathy Mary MacMillan from Lewis who is involved with Proiseact nan Sgeulachd, the Gaelic storytelling initiative in the Outer Isles. And from Sweden comes special guest Jerker Fahlstrom, with legends of Nordic gods and heroes performed in authentic Viking costume. Not to be missed! Local stalwarts will be adding to the fun throughout the weekend.
Full programme out mid-October, from Highland Council service points or libraries or from Community Learning & Leisure in Dingwall (01349-868486). |
