In recent months S4T has been working with the Scottish Executive to prepare and deliver a brand new training opportunity for the technical and production arts sector, across Scotland.

As a result, S4T are very pleased to be able to offer you an invitation to join the 'SkillsGym'. 'SkillsGym' is a national project, which aims to offer technical and production artists the opportunity to meet, discuss their work and to identify the on-going professional development and training needs of this workforce.

Anyone employed 'behind the scenes' can benefit from the 'SkillsGym' and joining in is free! So if you or someone you know works in a theatre, arts centre, hall, museum or gallery, or on festivals, concerts or in leisure tourism, why not get in touch with us an ask for a brochure and application pack.

S4T want to hear from those employed in lighting, sound, stage & production management, technical management, wardrobe & costume, prop making, scenic art, scenic construction and stage technology.

Even if you are not a full time employed practitioner, S4T also want to hear from those working part-time, or on a seasonal, freelance or short term contract basis.

There will be three 'SkillsGym events; Edinburgh 11th to 13th January 2005, Glasgow 25th to 27th January 2005 and Pitlochry 8th to 10th February 2005.

'SkillsGym' is an exciting opportunity to raise the profile and demand for high quality training for the technical and production arts.
