The Highland tour of the play “Who Bares Wins”, which has been playing to packed audiences across the north, comes to an end next Saturday (18th December) with a performance at Ardross Community Hall.
Written by Euan Martin and Dave Smith who were behind “The Accidental Death of an Accordionist” and “The Wedding”, the play is about a ramblers stop start journey which brings him close to John O’Groats.
Just a wee bit further north a whole community is waiting to see if he will go the extra mile to bring them the fame that is rightfully theirs.
Ardross Hall is a very fitting venue for the final tour date as several residents last year spotted the real Naked Rambler wearing only his trainers, rucksack and a smile as he walked through the area on his way to John O’Groats.
The show, which is suitable for adults, starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £6/£4 can be booked in advance by telephoning 01349 880591.
On the night there will be a festive feel to celebrate the end of the 2004 programme of events in Ardross Hall with a licensed bar and mulled wine and mince pies on sale during the interval and after the show to raise funds for the local nursery.
Since the new Community Hall opened its doors it has developing a reputation as a top venue for touring theatre and music companies.
Comfortable, with racked seating and a built in sound and light system, the very best of Scottish and International performers have made appearances and the shows have attracted audiences from all over the Highlands. The community is already planning an exciting range of shows for 2005, from traditional musicians, and children’s entertainers to top national and local theatre companies.
