A weekend of fairly intensive, high quality training for anyone interested in PC based recording techniques is being planned by Shetland Arts Trust as part of their ongoing Music Development Project.
The training, which focuses on the ‘Cubase’ system, will be delivered through ‘Train Shetland’ by Stow College, Glasgow in partnership with Shetland Arts Trust and Impact Arts, a Glasgow based creative arts training organisation.
The courses will be run over the weekend 12th and 13th February at Train Shetland’s facility at Gremista, from 10am – 5pm, and will concentrate on issues and techniques relating to live music recording and editing via the ‘Cubase’ PC based recording system.
Shetland Arts Trust Music Development Officer Davie Gardner said “We ran an earlier course on MIDI recording which proved incredibly popular and beneficial and, due to ongoing demand, we will now run a similar course looking at live music recording through the same system. I’m delighted that Stow College, who are seen as an industry leader in this particular sector, have again agreed to deliver the course on our behalf, and I’m once again indebted to Impact Arts for their ongoing support for music related training in Shetland”.
Places on the course are limited, so it is suggested anyone wishing to take part book well in advance by phoning Davie on (01595) 697550. The course fee is £10 per person.
