Eden Court Theatre has created The Highland QUEST for a new Musical.

The outstanding and matchless prize for The QUEST is for the chosen work to be professionally produced by Eden Court Theatre to open their new 250 seat venue in April 2007 and to be followed by a four week Highland Tour.

This is a unique writing project for individuals and teams of writers to develop their ideas for a new piece of musical theatre. In creating the competition Eden Court want to uncover new talented writers who demonstrate they are in touch with what Scotland is like today, and can create a work which speaks to audiences everywhere.

The closing date for initial submissions is 5.00pm April 1st 2005.  The work does not need to have been completed at this stage.  Teams will need to submit a brief synopsis of the story, details of their team, a short piece of marketing text, and 10 minutes of songs/musical material on CD or cassette.  At this stage organisers insist the most important ingredient they are looking for is original and exciting ideas and not a professional or studio quality recording.
