New summer chamber music initiative in Ullapool
New summer chamber music initiative in Ullapool
23 February 2005

A new opportunity for chamber music enthusiasts of all ages has just been announced by the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS).

More of a summer holiday than a summer school, NYOS Variations  (Ullapool, 6-13 August 2005) is for musicians of all ages and abilities. It offers participants a week-long opportunity to play chamber music, under the professional guidance of the Edinburgh Quartet, in the beautiful surroundings of Wester Ross.

Richard Chester, Director of NYOS, said ‘This is a brand new direction for NYOS, aimed at a broad age range - not only young people, but also adults of all ages, and it’s responding to demand from the considerable network of amateur chamber musicians in the UK and beyond.  Ullapool is the perfect setting for such a project, and we hope that participants will take advantage of the hill walking, sea kayaking and other activities which will be available.’

Better sign up quick as demand is proving to be encouraging for this inaugural project.

For more information and to book your place, contact Helen Jamieson, NYOS Variations Project Administrator info@nyosvariations.co.uk www.nyosvariations.co.uk Tel: 07788 754160.
