Highland and Irish musicians, including local school children, have joined together to give a concert to help raise funds to enable ‘Chernobyl children’ and children involved in the Beslan school siege in Russia, to spend a holiday in the Inverness area. Twelve Beslan children and two adults will arrive on 10th April and fifty ‘Chernobyl children’ will arrive between June and December. The concert, ‘An Evening of Celtic Music,’ will be held at Culloden Academy Theatre at 7.30pm on Friday 4th March.
The concert will feature: The Kiltearn Fiddlers; Dancing Feet; Pick’n’Mix; Central Primary Gaelic Choir; Royal Irish Regiment Piper and the Brewery Boys, an Irish folk band.
