Exciting new development for Caithness-based arts centre
Exciting new development for Caithness-based arts centre
03 March 2005

The Caithness Cultural Trust was formed from a cross section of the community to turn this atmospheric old building, originally part of  Thomas Telford’s harbour development in Pulteneytown, Wick, Caithness,  into a multi-functional arts centre.

A recommendation has been made by the Scottish Arts Council that Wick could be an international role model for Arts led economic and urban regeneration.

• There will be studio spaces for Artists, Designers and Craftsmen

• The centre will have an information resource for Cultural Activities in Caithness.

• There will be exhibition areas for Artists, Designers and Craftsmen

• There will be units for small businesses

• It will be a venue for a variety of entertainment E.g. music concerts, poetry nights, performance arts etc.

• There will be areas dedicated to children, for after school activities and workshops with artists.

• There will be recording studios.

• The main hall can also be used as a rehearsal space.

• It will be a focal point of the increasing Arts community in Caithness.

The Trust is currently looking for parties who would be interested in renting a work studio, recording studio, practice area or exhibition space in the arts centre.

If you are interested, or have any inquiries regarding this exciting new development please contact either Dane Miller dane@danemiller.co.uk (01955 604068) or Jenny Bruce jbrucewick@hotmail.com (01955603380).
