Taigh Màiri Anndra is a new Gaelic musical to be premiered at Eden Court, Inverness on Thursday 5th May at 7.30pm.

The story surrounds the American Margaret Fay Shaw who sadly passed away last December at the grand old age of 101.  It is thanks to her pioneering work that we have such a vivid account of life in 1930s South Uist ­song, folklore and film are all preserved through her music transcriptions and photographic work.

The show is newly-written for this event by Iain Finlay MacLeod (dialogue) and Eilidh Mackenzie (songs and music) with Ruairidh Nicolson and Sandra Robertson providing drama and dance instruction for the 100 strong cast of children from Central Primary¹s Gaelic Medium Department.  Musicians Daibhidh Boag (fiddle), Nuala Kennedy (flute & whistles), Monica Neeling (piano), Brian OhEadhra (guitar & bodhran) and Jamie MacGregor (trumpet) will accompany the children throughout the performance.
