For visual arts enthusiasts in the area, this year’s Open Art Fair in Inverness, is to be extended by three days to run from Saturday 4th June to Saturday 11th June. It will again be held in the Old High Church Halls, Academy Street, and is organised by the Old High St. Stephen’s Church of Scotland for their church funds.
Approximately 400 paintings will be exhibited for sale by talented recreational and professional artists taking this marketing opportunity to display and sell their works to a wide and varied audience, right in the centre of the Inverness.
The Art Fair reflects the rich culture of visual art tradition in the Highlands and Islands and aims to increase awareness of this in the community.

Conditions of Entry
The Old High St Stephen’s Art Fair is aimed to encourage artists throughout the Highlands to sell their paintings at an event in the centre of Inverness which offers marketing opportunities for recreational artists and professional alike.
• Except by invitation each artist is restricted to four paintings only.
• Each work must have a label on the reverse side of the picture giving the name, address and telephone number of the artist, the title of the picture, the medium and the price. All works must be for sale.
• There is an entry fee of £1 for each painting to be paid on the reception day. A commission of 25% will be charged on all works sold.
• Pictures must be properly framed and provided with adequate and secure rings and tightly wired. Clip type mountings (unframed) are not acceptable. Cover screws and rings with foam or bubble-wrap secured with masking tape, to avoid damaging other frames. Please pay particular attention to these points as you could be held responsible for damage or injury caused by failure to comply. Pictures with damaged frames will be rejected.
• Pictures will be exhibited at the discretion of the Selection Committee who reserves the right to withhold or reject any of the pictures submitted. The committees’ decision is final.
• The Committee will not be responsible for defective arrangements, faulty packing or storage, fire, accident, theft, negligence or any other cause which damages the exhibits and artists may therefore wish to insure their own works.
