A local photograher, Richard Blosse, has just completed the "Tarbat Photo Archive" collection, which is being exhibited at the Tarbat Discovery Centre in Portmahomack. He has collected several hundred (mostly black and white photographs) showing all aspects of comunity life in the area. Some of these go back over 100 years and many locals have loaned him additional material.
All these photographs have now been catalogued, indexed and where possible names, places and dates added. However there are gaps of course and the Centre hopes that visitors may be able to assist in filling in the missing detail. Smaller copies of all the photographs, in their relevant categories, have been mounted in albums but anyone wishing to see an enlargement of a specific photograph can request this from the archive files.
The archive is now on view daily at The Discovery Centre from 10am to 5pm. The Centre is grateful to the Community Econominic Developement/Ross and Cromarty Enterprise Partnership who jointly funded this project.
