Cinderella's Sisters tell their side of the story . . .
Cinderella's Sisters tell their side of the story . . .
31 May 2005

Cinderella's Sisters, that's what the paper called them. And it stuck! How did that happen? How did they end up as a bit part in someone else's story? Well now they're back, to set the record straight . . .

Award-winning Catherine Wheels Theatre Company visits Invergordon Arts Centre (15 June 1pm - 01349 868435) and Maillaig & Morar Community Centre (17 June 1.30pm - 01687 460039) with their latest production Cinderella's Sisters - a story of ambition, broken dreams, sibling rivalry . . . and ballroom . . .

Cinderella's Sisters has a handsome prince, a glamorous transformation and a grand ball. But there's one big difference . . . ballroom dancing! These sisters are competitive ballroom dancers who can foxtrot, tango and quickstep as if their lives depended on it. Ballroom dancing rules their life and in this highly competitive world anyone new and talented could pose a threat, especially if it's your step-sister. So, question in this story isn't, "Will she go to the ball?", but, "Who will win the West of Scotland Ballroom Dancing Championship Finals?"

Seeing Cinderella's Sisters will leave you with a new perspective on those much maligned sisters and make you want to grab a partner and let ballroom jazz up your life!

This latest Catherine Wheels production, directed by Gill Robertson, written by multi-award-winning playwright Mike Kenny, tours Scotland until 17 June and is suitable for anyone of any age, but particularly for children aged 8 and over, their friends and families.

A real beauty . . .fast paced and humorous . . .drama for kids doesn't get much better than Catherine Wheels Theatre Company (Sunday Herald)

Catherine Wheels Theatre Company was created in 1999 to produce dynamic theatre for children and young people. Previous productions include Martha, Lifeboat, The Story of the Little Gentleman and Cyrano.
