Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre would like to invite members of the public to contribute to a collaborative examination of the landscape of Uist.
The islands that constitute Uist are widely acknowledged to contain unique, beautiful and irreplaceable natural habitats, as well as numerous sites of historic and prehistoric significance.
Whether you are local or a visitor to the Uists, your personal experience of the environment is unique and they would welcome your thoughts on the past, present and future of man's intervention in the landscape.
You are requested to produce ideas (statements, questions, sketches, marks, images, sounds, or even QuickTime movies), which seek to encourage us all to evaluate our relationship with this landscape, and the marks we make upon it.
The resultant work is to be projected as part of an interactive gallery exhibition designed to enable audience responses (gallery visitors, workshop participants and via the website) to be integrated into the exhibition on a daily basis, thereby creating a dynamic dialogue on the nature of our culture and our landscape.
The LandMarks exhibition will run from 2nd July to 27th August 2005 in Gallery 2, Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Art Centre, Lochmaddy, Isle of North Uist.
