Moray Council Crafts Residency in Schools Opportunity
Moray Council Crafts Residency in Schools Opportunity
30 June 2005

The Moray Council is seeking a craft worker to undertake a residency in three secondary schools, Elgin Academy, Lossiemouth High School and Speyside High School during the Autumn term 2005.

With the support of the Principal Teachers of Art, the successful artist will develop the skills- based element of a teaching unit on the theme of “Body Decoration” in the broadest sense.

Pupils in Moray have little access to innovative new developments in contemporary crafts, and the unusual use of commonly available materials will be an important part of the residency.

Moray Council is looking for a practising professional craftsperson with experience of working with young people and an interest in working in the educational environment.

Fee: £6,000 for three month residency, plus allowances for materials, accommodation and transport and travel.
The closing date is 1 August 2005.

The residency is supported by the Scottish Arts Council Crafts Residencies in Schools 2005/2006 programme.
