Applications are now invited for Tartan Shorts 2006.
As Scotland's most established short film production scheme, Tartan Shorts has helped to develop the professional careers of some of the top writers, directors and producers working in the UK Film and Television industry today.
Tartan Shorts creates an excellent opportunity for Scotland's emergent filmmaking talent to produce cinematic short dramas for television broadcast and theatrical exhibition on 35mm. The aim is to commission distinctive and original scripts which favour strong story-telling and which will be realised by teams who have a highly individual vision and approach to the short film genre.
Three films will be commissioned. They must have a running time of 9 minutes (including credits), have budgets of up to £65,000 and will probably be originated on S16mm and delivered on 35mm.
Scripts are invited from writer/producer/director teams who have yet to make their feature film debut. Scripts are also encouraged from individual writers who have yet to team up with directors or producers. We would also like to see applications from producers or directors who want to consider the scripts that do not have teams in place.
Tartan Shorts 2006 will be produced in conjunction with BBC Scotland.
The deadline for submission is Monday 29 August 2005.
