The Highlands & Islands Short Story Association (HISSAC) has launched its winter competition for 2005.
The theme is open – any subject or genre, we like the obscure and bizarre so anything goes, apart from outright obscenity or encouragement to racial harassment.

Maximum Word Count : 2,500
Winning prize of £200
Closing Date : November 30th 2005
Entry fee : £4 per story or 3 for £10
Please make cheques payable to “HISSAC” - at present we have no Paypal facility but we can accept cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders or travellers cheques.
If none of these options are available, local currency is acceptable in cash notes as a last resort. Our bank has facilities for international exchange.
No entry form is needed, but please include a cover sheet with name, contact details and story title, and do use a clear type face, preferably single-sided sheets, double-spaced, sent by post.
The winning entry will be announced at the end of December and we ask that permission is given for any story to be posted on the website, although of course all copyright remains with the author.
