Screen Machine Mobile Cinema National Lottery Award - Your Vote Counts
10 October 2005

Your vote could help the Screen Machine win the first National Lottery Scottish Project of the Year award.
You can vote as many times as you like by telephone or online: the numbers are below.

Public voting opens today Monday 19 September and closes on Monday, 10 October 2005.

Since the lottery began in 1994, more than £1.6bn has been invested in Scottish projects in the fields of the arts, sport, heritage, charities, health, education and the environment. The prize, developed from the Helping Hand award given last year to mark the lottery's 10th anniversary, has been established in recognition of the important work lottery-funded projects do in communities around Scotland.

The winner of the National Lottery Scottish Project of the Year will go forward to the UK final against winning projects from England, Ireland and Wales, which will once again be decided by a national vote.

Staff from the winning Scottish project will be flown south for the UK awards ceremony at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Friday, November 4, when they will receive a trophy. The winner of the UK-wide competition will also be announced. The overall winner for the UK will be showcased on the BBC during the National Lottery games programmes.
