Applications are sought from Gaelic artists, communities, organisations and trainees wishing to participate in the Gaelic Arts Strategic Development Programme.
Showcases
Outline proposals for new Gaelic Arts Showcase ideas, in any or all art forms, are invited by Friday 16th December 2005.
Concepts should be accompanied by an indication of how, when, where and by whom the project would be delivered plus a draft budget and note of the potential benefits. The successful stage1 applicants will be awarded up to £1,000 to further develop their initial concept.
Fully researched and budgeted proposals will go forward for stage 2 final showcase awards of up to £20,000.
Artists' Residencies
Proposals are invited from organisations wishing to host a Gaelic Arts Residency, in any or all art forms, by Friday 16th December.
The scheme is open to any organisations wishing to promote interest in the Gaelic arts and language within their communities. This may include arts organisations, community groups, schools, hospitals etc. Residencies may vary in duration but the equivalent of 8 x six month residencies are on offer initially. The number of Residencies supported will depend on their duration, with the potential to expand the number subject to demand and additional funding being sourced.
The scheme will fund the artist’s fees but the host organisation will be expected to provide accommodation, an appropriate working base and a clear work programme for the artist. Applications are invited from interested artists as well as host organisations.
Gaelic Arts Traineeships
Outline applications are invited from arts and cultural organisations wishing to participate in the Traineeship Programme.
The aim is to offer young people the experience of working within the Gaelic arts sector over a period of 3 – 12 months. Trainees will have the opportunity to bring new ideas into the placement, as well as advancing their career development.
The Trainee placement may be in arts production, promotion, events management or any aspect of cultural development. The number of traineeships supported will depend on their duration, with the potential to expand the number subject to demand and additional funding being sourced.
Traineeships will generally be funded 50% under the scheme and 50% by the employer. Applications are invited from intending trainees as well as employers wishing to participate in the scheme.
