Channel 4 Education has commissioned a new 8 x 30 series about TEENAGE LIVES and we want to find the best new talent in the country to direct them.
If you are an assistant producer who should be directing or a new filmmaker who hasn't made a film for terrestrial television we want to hear from you.
To apply you need three things:
Your full CV.
A page describing what excites you about documentaries today and telling us why you think you have it in you to be a director.
A paragraph supporting your application from a sponsor. This should be someone who knows you well and is a producer, executive producer or film school tutor you have been working with.
Plus...
Experience... in TV or documentaries is preferable but if you think you have the potential to become a director but have never directed a 30 minute film for a terrestrial broadcaster, then we'd like to hear from you.
Be warned... The series has the same editorial demands as any Channel 4 prime time documentary. As well as requiring real talent you will need tenacity, flair, persuasiveness and the capacity to work very hard.
