What do celebrities Terry Wogan, Michael Parkinson, Ian McKellen, Anneka Rice, Robbie Shepherd and Rhona Martin have in common?
As well as many other stars of stage, screen, sport, art and the media they have been donating delightful wee signed doodles to be auctioned at the GREAT CELEBRITY DOODLE AUCTION on Friday, December 2 from 7pm in the Gallery at Moray College in Elgin.
Celebrities have been generously donating their doodles for a fund raising auction for the art students’ trip to New York in 2006. These annual trips to leading galleries provide valuable inspiration for students giving them the opportunity to see the works of major artists and what’s happening in the contemporary art scene.
As well as doodles, there will be a signed football from the Aberdeen Football team and a beautiful full colour print from one of Scotland’s foremost artists, Will Maclean and a great raffle with some tremendous prizes. Bryan Beattie is the guest auctioneer and the Janetta Stuart Nairn quartet will be on hand to make the evening go with a swing.
The Gallery in A block at Moray College, Elgin will be open to the public all week from Monday 28 November from 10am - 4pm so that the doodles can be viewed before they are sold.
This is an excellent opportunity to buy a unique Christmas gift for that very special person in your life. Not just any doodle – a celebrity doodle!
