Ocean Colour Scene to Play Shetland Gig
Ocean Colour Scene to Play Shetland Gig
10 February 2006

One of the country’s leading indie bands ‘Ocean Colour Scene’ are set to play a one-off gig in Shetland on Wednesday 17th May as part of a small Scottish tour that also takes in Glasgow, Perth and Aberdeen.

The gig, promoted by Shetland Arts Trust in conjunction with Regular Music from Edinburgh, will take place in the North Star in Lerwick and will be an acoustic take on their normal live electric show, although plenty of musical fireworks are still promised.

Arts Trust music development officer Davie Gardner said “We are delighted to have been included in this particular tour. Ocean Colour Scene are still one of the country’s most popular live bands and we’ve been trying to get them to come to Shetland for a number of years. It should be a cracking gig and I expect there will be a great deal of interest in the tickets”.

Tickets for the concert, priced £15, will go on sale shortly. Full details will be announced in the local press at the end of the month.
