Remax Festival of Laughter in Invergordon
Remax Festival of Laughter in Invergordon
10 February 2006

A good belly laugh can lighten anyone's mood and any of the events at the weekend of 17th,18th and19th February in Invergordon, will brighten the most tired of faces! How can we claim this? Three local drama groups and lots of volunteers have put together a programme that has had them crying with laughter (well mostly) Now they want to share it with as many people as possible and there is a broad range of activities for all tastes and ages all being put on at Invergordon Art Centre.

Tickets are available through www.thebooth.co.uk and also in local shops "Off the Peg" Dingwall, "Noreen and Kelly's" Invergordon and "Tower Bookshop" Tain. For the opening Friday night we are proud to have The Dingwall players with their own take on "The Blood Donor", made famous by Tony Hancock. There will also be a wine reception included in the ticket price and a chance to see photos and displays about the groups involved and how the event could become an annual one. Saturday is for workshops, children in the morning and adults in the afternoon (full details below). Saturday evening is a double bill with The Invergordon Players and Tain Players both putting on one act plays.

The most experimental event is the Sunday19th when there is a buffet "Laffin Lunch". For the uninitiated this will involve a comedy cabaret, with a chance to do your own five minute contribution. If this takes your fancy then come along to any of the weekend's acts to put your name in the box for the running order. There is also a short film "Wooly Comforts" made by Invergordon Youth Theatre and a short play "Buzz" performed by Tain Academy pupils.
Thanks go to sponsors Remax and to The Highland Council for grant assistance. All moneys made go to cover costs and the laughter pays for the rest! Full details of times and prices are below.
