SHOW SCOTLAND 06 is a celebration of Scotland in all its glory, to be enjoyed by everyone over the bank holiday weekend 28th-30th April 2006. Come along and visit Strathnaver Museum in Bettyhill for a free family weekend where there will be lots to see and entertainment is being provided as part of this special weekend.

Explore the collection of local history artefacts, hear how the events of days gone by have shaped the present. Stories expertly told by Elliot Rudie and for this weekend only Donnie Henderson. Many people will have met Donnie as worked with Strathnaver over the last year recording memories of World War 11 as part of the Their Past Your Future project. The project was a great success and the museum archive has been greatly enriched by the many interviews made by Donnie and filmed by Jake Jackson. The material gathered has been used to create a DVD, booklet, set of 4 cards and a commerative quilt. These honour all of the men and women from The North Sutherland who were involved WW11. The film will be being shown in the museum throughout the weekend. The quilt will be displayed for all to see.

We do hope that as many people who have been involved in the project will visit the museum this weekend but if not we will be arranging film events in the areas involved so everyone will have a chance to enjoy the end product of this project.

Libby Mackay and the museum volunteers have put together a programme of events to appeal to all age ranges. Please do take this opportunity to visit Strathnaver Museum and support all the work which is ongoing as the museum develops.
