Funding deadlines for Highland 2007 in Moray
Funding deadlines for Highland 2007 in Moray
03 May 2006

Following a very successful and well attended launch in April, Highland 2007 in Moray is now open for business.

With £360,000 available for community groups and locally generated flagship events, now is the time to start formulating ideas and making funding applications.

Not for profit groups and organisations with a constitution are eligible to apply for funds through the Community Programme. These applications will be considered by the Moray Highland 2007 Management Group and two funding deadlines have been set for Friday 16th June 2006 and Friday 15th September 2006.

In addition to the Community Programme for Highland 2007 in Moray, the budget will be used to support high profile events that will have a major impact across Moray and the potential to attract visitors to the area. The Management Group will welcome ideas for events from groups who can demonstrate community support and the capacity to deliver the event.

Highland 2007 aims to create social and economic benefits by celebrating the area’s culture – past, present and future – through events that focus on arts, environment, heritage, language, science and sport. Highland 2007 will raise the profile of the area as a dynamic and creative place to live and visit.

Fiona Hampton, director of Highland 2007, said: “We are delighted that Highland 2007 in Moray has been so well received and look forward to the projects and events in Moray that will enhance the overall programme of events in 2007.”

Guidelines and application forms for the Community are available on www.highland2007.com  and from Nick Fearne, arts development officer, Moray Council, 01343 557148 or Roger Edwards, senior development manager, HIE Moray, 01309 696012

Groups are strongly recommended to discuss their ideas with Roger and Nick before submitting an application.
