Ivan Drever and Duncan Chisholm at Ardross Hall

Ivan Drever and Duncan Chisholm will be playing Ardross Hall on Tuesday 23 May 2006.

Ivan and Duncan are established as one of Scotland's top duos, playing mainly traditional venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and recently the USA. The media are amazed by the " excitement level the two can reach with just acoustic instruments " hear them, and you will be too !

Respected Orkney musician, Ivan Drever is well known throughout the world of traditional music for his songwriting as well as his work with Scottish band Wolfstone and his highly successful partnership with fiddler Duncan Chisholm. Not only will you find his songs on Wolfstone albums, but the Dubliners and Davy Arthur have also recorded them. Recently he has been writing music for US based dancer Liam Harney.

Duncan Chisholm hails from Kirkhill in Ross-shire. He was taught to play fiddle from the age of eight by crofter Donald Riddell and has been at the forefront of Scottish fiddle playing for the last ten years. Early in his career Duncan was a Mod Medal winner and during the last five years has appeared with a number of Scottish artists both live and on recordings as a guest. He continues to work with Wolfstone as well as his work with Ivan and the Blazing Fiddles. Duncan has released two solo albums, " Red Point " and “The Door of Saints” it features ten instrumental tracks featuring Phil Cunningham as well as Ivan.
