Eden Court Jazz Favourite Cathie Rae ReturnsTo Inverness
16 May 2006

Brought up in the true jazz tradition by father Ronnie, a professional jazz bass player, and mother Margaret, a music teacher, Cathie is the eldest sibling of six talented Scottish Musicians.

A highly acclaimed vocalist, Cathie has many influences including Chet Baker, Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderly, Nat King Cole and contemporary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Christine Tobin and Ricky Lee Jones.

Her singing progress has been marked by her acclaimed performances on the Tribute to Chet Baker album and concerts with Award-winning trumpeter Colin Steele, her critically acclaimed albums Time Out and Flow and her nomination as one of Scotland's most talented and influential young artists by Scotland on Sunday.

Cathie is a director of Thick-Skinned Productions and owns Alba Arts. She also runs the Fionna Duncan Vocal Jazz Workshops and is currently programme manager for the Glasgow International Jazz Festival.

On her latest Inverness date she will be appearing with The Graeme Scott Trio. Likened to the great guitarist Jim Mullen, Graeme’s accolades include the Johnny Dankworth award for most promising young talent.

Cathie Rae With The Graeme Scott Trio play at the The Swallow Crown
