Giant:Theatre presents The Puzzle, a live theatre and animation adventure which will be touring Scotland
18 May - 22 June 2006.

Now, if this goes here…it looks like a mountain range, tall and majestic. But if we put that there…it’s a waterfall slide….whoosh! splash! Cool… look at those dragon eyes shining through the cracks! Then the ground shakes and the walls come tumbling down…

Two girls discover a playground - a soft play world to discover and explore. They tentatively begin to play - building and knocking down structures. Quickly they realize that this is no ordinary playground as the worlds of their imaginations are animated before their eyes.

They embark on an adventure that takes them across the globe, through time and even into outer space! On this journey they realize the importance of friendship, of sharing and of having fun.

Building and knocking down, dressing and undressing, using interactive light, sound, scent and images – two performers will take you on an adventure of the imagination. The show incorporates live theatre and animation as well as sensory lighting, scent, Makaton, movement, storytelling and music to weave a magical tale making the ordinary become the extraordinary!

Giant:Theatre continues to develop unusual, charming and satisfying creative experiences for all children with this new theatre and animation adventure inspired by children’s soft playgrounds and the ever changing nature of play.

In their 17th year of devising creative adventures for all kids, Giant will play to over 1300 children and their families across Scotland with this newly devised piece of children’s theatre.


With an audience of only 40 for each performance The Puzzle allows for a high level of interaction and engagement unseen in many conventional children’s theatre shows. Suitable for children aged 5 - 8 and their families.
