The aim of this initiative is to encourage creative women to learn, share ideas, experience, good practice and help to create opportunities for new business and enterprise.

With its initial launch at GoHi Inverness in September 2005, the network has had a presence throughout the UK and in Berlin, Tampere, Cannes, Texas and other international destinations over the past year.

Although the project will be launched through the arts department at CCM and in collaboration with RF Records, the members will be working hard to encourage other women in the creative industries across the world to join and contribute ideas, share good practice and help widen participation. WMCW is supported by the European Social Fund

Who they'd like to meet:

Women from all sectors of the music and creative industries worldwide. WMCW will support creative women with a website (which has a gallery for creative work to be showcased), a newsletter, network meetings plus a multimedia DVD release.

They are also busy compiling a directory of names and details of women who run or is involved in a creative business, example: publishers, record company and galleries.
