HI~Arts is very pleased to announce the first details of its Summer/Autumn 2006 programme of Writer Surgeries, taking place across the Highlands and Islands area.
The surgeries provide hour-long, one-to-one sessions for writers wanting to discuss and develop their work and practice, whether they are seeking advice on any aspect of their own writing or on accessing funding or training opportunities, local and national contacts, assistance in progressing projects etc.
HI~Arts writing development programme provides writers in the region with independent, anonymous critical reading, mentoring, advice on developing and publishing their work, tips from agents and publishers etc, help obtaining finance. The surgeries are a vital part of this work enabling writers to discuss development opportunities in the context of their own work.
For some, the surgeries are a matter of seeking basic advice and assistance on the practicalities of being a writer and getting published, for others it is a more personal journey, seeking direction and support in their work.
The sessions are with HI~Arts' Writing Development Coordinator Peter Urpeth, and are open to writers at any stage in their work and development, and writing in any medium.
