Do you just drive through Caithness to get to Orkney? Well, no more! The 2nd Caithness Arts Week is upon us! From traditional music to fusion jazz, classical music to big band swing it’s all in Caithness this September. Grey Coast, Theatre Modo, Northumberland Theatre Company bring Oedipus, Shakespeare and circus to the yellow harvest acre stages of Scotland’s most northerly county. The powerful film, “Detox or Die” by Wick film maker David Graham Scott compliments the ambitious “Atlantic Forest”, a new music and poetry collaboration between Gordon Gunn and George Gunn presented by Scotia Review. Arts and crafts workshops in quilting and visual arts augment the Caithness Archaeological Trust’s fascinating presentation “Pictish Power in the North”. Go in search of the architectural genius of Thomas Telford in Wick’s herring town or alternatively go “In Search of Mozart” by taking in the fascinating documentary film celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s death. In short – there is something for every one. You cannot miss it!
