A one off performance of Jonathan Burrows' Both Sitting Duet

Performed for the first time on Scottish soil, this is a unique opportunity to see a piece which the New York Times described as "... one of the funniest and most ingenious dances seen in New York in a long time".

Jonathan Burrows is a former Royal Ballet soloist and now an internationally acclaimed award-winning choreographer. He has made work for William Forsythe’s Ballett Frankfurt and in 2002 he was given an award by the New York Foundation for Contemporary Arts in recognition of his contribution to contemporary dance. Both Sitting Duet was the winner of a 2004 New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Award.

Produced by Bodysurf Scotland, the course will focus on the process and practicalities of dance-making, allowing dancers and choreographers an opportunity to reflect on their own practice and remember the fundamental issues about why they started to dance, perform and choreograph in the first place.

The course will take place at the Universal Hall Arts Centre, situated within the Findhorn Foundation Community and Eco-village in the North East of Scotland

The Findhorn Foundation Community is known world-wide as a major international centre of personal and spiritual transformation and is situated 30 miles from Inverness.
