Own Art Gallery Highlights for Christmas 2006
Own Art Gallery Highlights for Christmas 2006
01 December 2006

HI~Arts is pleased to be working with the Scottish Arts Council in the development of the Own Arts scheme in Scotland.

Own Art is a scheme offering interest-free credit for people to buy contemporary art and craft. You will need a bank account that can handle direct debits, proof of identity with your address on it, and you will also need to be over 18.

Purchases can include paintings, sculptures, prints, artists’ film and video, artists’ new media work, photography, jewellery, metalwork, ceramics, glass, furniture and textiles.

Own Art is designed to make buying art easy and affordable.

Art can enhance your home and working environment.

Art can be for a special occasion – a wedding, birthday or retirement present.

Buying art helps support an artist’s career.

Following a pilot in 2004 with nine member galleries, the Scottish Arts Council is now extending the Scheme and has a diverse range of galleries included from across Scotland, with a healthy representation from the Highlands and Islands!
