Highland 2007 Launch and Lifescan Monster Street Party
06 December 2006

Further details were announced today of the Highland 2007 Launch and Lifescan Monster Street Party events taking place in Inverness on 12 January 2007.

Pete Irvine, of Unique Events, Fiona Hampton, director of Highland 2007 and Elaine Bailey, communications manager for Lifescan Scotland were joined by Maisie and her herder at a media briefing earlier today. Maisie is one of 30 different monsters from across Europe who will be attending the Highland 2007 Launch and Lifescan Monster Street Party.

Pete Irvine of Unique Events, said: “Highland 2007 will be a first for Europe, never before has a festival covered such a widespread and diverse area for an entire year. We are extremely excited to be creating the launch event, which I believe will be truly world class.

“I feel the programme of events being brought together for Highland 2007 rivals the programme Liverpool has as the City of Culture in 2008 and that next year will change people’s perspective of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland by bringing together all that is good about the area and showcasing it to a world wide audience.”
