Children can look forward to a real treat this weekend when Children’s Classic Concerts bring their family show Tinseltime to Perth Concert Hall.
Many adults have already enjoyed the amazing acoustic of Perth’s new concert hall, but it is now time for the kids to enjoy some wonderful tunes.
Children’s Classic Concerts’ Christmas shows have been described as the “hottest ticket in town” and have proved very popular in Glasgow and Edinburgh. This will be the organisation’s first time in the Fair City so make sure you don’t miss this chance to experience an amazing afternoon out.
At Tinseltime, there’s a full symphony orchestra, ballet dancers and carol singers all creating a fun-filled festive atmosphere. Charismatic conductor and presenter Christopher Bell will transform the whole audience into an additional percussion section in an unforgettable performance of Jingle Bells for full orchestra and car keys, while the Christmas Alphabet will require even more energetic audience participation. To help you get in the spirit, why not come along all dressed up - the orchestra probably will.
Plus, look out for the famous Clog Dance from La Fille Mal Gardee, traditional and unexpected Christmas carols and get ready to join in with triangles, jingles and other “twinkly” percussion to create a new version of Leontovich’s magical Carol of the Bells.
These concerts are specifically designed and arranged to appeal to children in the 4 to 14 age range, although they aim to provide fun for all the family and offer up something for everyone.
With all the best tunes, these hour-long concerts provide non-stop entertainment. With simple, amusing explanations of each piece making the music more accessible, lots of special surprises and audience participation, it’s great fun for all the family.
For ten years the Children's Classic Concerts organisation has been delighting families and school parties with their fun-filled introduction to live orchestral music. Children's Classic Concerts believe that the thrill and impact of live performance is crucial to children's enjoyment of music, and are committed to providing the best quality performances for young audiences.
Tinseltime will be at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 17 December with shows at 1pm and 3pm. Tickets £10:£6 concessions and £6 child. Family tickets £29. To book call 0845 612 6319. |
