Surreal Comic Drama Promises “Whale” Of A Time
19 January 2007

AN EDEN COURT IN EXILE EVENT
NETWORK OF STUFF PRESENTS
THE UNSINKABLE CLERK
FRIDAY 16 FEBRUARY
AT THE SPECTRUM CENTRE, INVERNESS

The Spectrum Centre is to play stage to The Unsinkable Clerk, a comic drama following two men on a surreal, accidental adventure.

The Unsinkable Clerk is a new production by the theatre company Network of Stuff.

Mr Plumley is a middle England, middle class manager. He doesn't approve of rocking the boat, and he certainly isn't looking to change. However, one day he finds himself thrown into the belly of a whale alongside another man, and together they set out on an adventure to a waterfall at the edge of the world. Will Mr Plumley be up for the challenge, or will he sink without a trace?

The Unsinkable Clerk is a modern fable featuring two actors, absurd images, hard decisions and a flotilla of rubber ducks.

The show had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006, where Network Of Stuff was nominated for the Writers Guild Award for Best Theatre Newcomer.

The Unsinkable Clerk is suitable for ages 16+.

Network of Stuff was set up in 1998 and has been entertaining audiences across the country touring new writing, producing daft street theatre and explosive story telling. The company also runs educational drama based workshops and undertakes business training.

A delight from start to finish – Phillip Pullman
