Scots Comedy Star Craig Hill Camps up The Crown Court
19 January 2007

AN EDEN COURT IN EXILE EVENT
CRAIG HILL
SATURDAY 10 FEBRUARY 8.00PM
AT THE CROWN COURT HOTEL, INVERNESS

Scotland's brightest comedy star Craig Hill is to bring his much loved brand of cheeky, irreverent and wonderfully camp humour to Inverness.

Craig’s act mixes Incisive stand-up, fabulous characterisations and improvisation with sublimely out-of-context musical diva impersonations.

He is a highly popular live performer, and a star of radio and TV including BBC Scotland’s Craig Hill's Out Tonight! and Floor Show.

Craig‘s first public success came at age ten when he won a local talent contest, impersonating Cleo Laine. He never looked back, going on to enter dance contests, write songs, sing in local bands - and eventually train as a hairdresser.

After studying Drama at Queen Margaret College, and whilst working as an actor, a friend secretly booked him in for an 'open spot' at The Gilded Balloon venue in 1998. To his surprise the audience absolutely loved him and he decided on a career in comedy.

He made his Edinburgh Fringe comedy debut in 1999, and has grown into one of the Festival’s most popular comedy draws with a succession of acclaimed shows. Craig now comperes and headlines at venues throughout Britain.

In 2002, Craig was invited to the US for the Scottish Arts Council's Tartan Day showcase Distilled: Live Scotland in New York . His fresh comic style shone at the high-profile event and won a rapturous reception from the media, event officials and delegates.

His radio series include for BBC Radio Scotland include Craig Hill's Passionate Encounters and Famous for Five Minutes. He is also a regular guest on the Fred MacAuley and Brian Morton radio shows.

His many TV credits include Live Floor Show, (BBC Scotland) the renamed Floor Show (BBC 2) which he is presents, Hogmanay Live (BBC 1), T in the Park (BBC 2), and Edinburgh Or Bust (Channel 4)
