David Gray will be appearing at Perth Concert Hall on Monday 5 March 2007 as part of his Barebones Tour. The tour will feature songs spanning Gray's 16-year career, including songs from Gray's seven albums, re-workings of past hits, and never-before-heard songs written in the sessions for his last album, Life In Slow Motion. Gray will be accompanied on the tour by long-term band member Robbie Malone and Neil MacColl who appeared on Gray's first album A Century Ends.
Entitled The Barebones Tour, the names is inspired from the early Gray track 'Good For Nothing'; “Standing in my barebones naked on the old wood stage, wondering if they’ll lay their money down.” This tour differs from the lavish production of Gray's recent live performances, promising a return to basics and a rare opportunity to glimpse Gray in the stripped-back form in which he began his career. In commenting on the tour, Gray said: "It feels right to do it, taking it right back to how I began."
