The Scottish Jazz Federation and BBC Radio Scotland have joined forces to create the Scottish Young Jazz Musician 2007 Award .

The Final is to be hosted by Glasgow International Jazz Festival at the Old Fruitmarket and it is hoped will bring together the most talented of all young Scottish Jazz musicians. The judging panel will be a wide range of jazz musicians including Guest Artistic Director of the Glasgow International Jazz Festival, Dennis Rollins.

The winner will hold the title for a year with chance to perform and to represent the best of what Scotland has to offer the jazz scene both at home and further afield.

Interested musicians should be between the ages of 12 and 25 and resident in Scotland. To apply complete the attached form (downloadable below) and send to the address shown with a 10 minute recording and short biography and description of your jazz music experience to date.
