Doug Goodkin will be visiting the Highlands on 25-27 May 2007 at The Stables, Cromarty for the 4th year to teach Orff Schulwerk, but this time at intermediate level. Previous participants, and Doug, felt that it was time to further develop their knowledge of Orff. In previous years the courses that have been put together have been aimed at all abilities and across all sectors and have been multi-functional in output. This course is designed for music/dance/drama/song teachers and educators, and can be applied to pupils of all abilities and those with additional support needs.
For 2007 we are going to focus on Orff as the next step on from earlier teachings in previous Music Trains. “Adults coming to their first Orff workshop are often enchanted by the permission to play again. However, there is a profound artistry behind this playful approach that crafts our first creative impulses and brings them into a structured form. This weekend will focus on this second stage of Orff teaching, offering concrete structures and sequential processes without loosing the playful spirit behind them.” (Doug).
