The Dog That Barked at Boulders: What Makes a Good Short Story
23 April 2007

Author Linda Henderson will be at An Tuireann, Portree, Isle of Skye  on Saturday 28th April at 7.30pm to discuss what makes for a good short story and reading from her own work to illustrate this.

Linda lives and works on Skye with her husband and two spaniels. Born in London, she escaped as soon as she could. Linda started to write short stories and poetry for public consumption when she came to Skye in 1996.

In 2002 she graduated from Strathclyde University with a postgraduate degree in creative writing and has had stories and poetry published in many journals and anthologies in Scotland and in the US, where she has twice read in New York.

In 2006 her historical story, Gudrid, set in viking Stornoway won the Books From Scotland Summer Competition, the judges praising its evocation of time and place and the economy of the writing.
