Faclan, the 2nd Hebridean Book Festival, is at An Lanntair from 29th August - 1st September 2007.

Highlights this year include Iain Banks, Muriel Gray, Robert Macfarlane, Lesley Riddoch, UrSgeul Writers, Kenneth White (with wine courtesy of the Institut Francais d'Ecosse) and shortlisted writers from the Royal Mail Children's Books Awards.

There will be an exhibition of the photographs of Robert Adam taken on Barra (1925) and Lewis (1938), a pre-festival feast and book-signing with Nichola Fletcher a world authority on venison, a preview screening of the acclaimed Gaelic feature film Seachd and Brian McNeill's audio-visual tour-de-force about the Scots in Europe The Baltic tae Byzantium. There is also an event in Uist with J D Hache on Marshal Macdonald and in Harris about the late Finlay J Macdonald.
