Aviemore Trade Show 2008
Aviemore Trade Show 2008
15 August 2007

Preparations are under way for the second Aviemore Trade Show. The first show took place in April this year and was hailed as a success by both exhibitors and buyers. There were 80 exhibitors, most of whom took orders at the show. A few said that the first day was the best first day they have ever had at a show, and this is from well established companies. 12 exhibitors were showing for the first time and most of them were very happy with the feed back and orders they received from buyers. Just over 800 buyers came through the door over the three days, all were very happy to find a show which was purely for Scottish producers. One American buyer said that she had just come to see what Aviemore was all about and ended up placing 14 orders at the show. The buyers ranged from small gift shops to establishments like The National Trust for Scotland and Johnstons of Elgin.

Aviemore Trade Show is a three day trade only event for Scottish makers in the art, craft and gift sectors. It will run from Sunday 27th to Tuesday 29th April 2008. The hall will be set up with a shell-scheme stand system; there is no space option available.

On the Sunday evening there will be a 5 course Highland banquet on board the Spey Valley Steam Train, for which tickets will be sold. This was a superb evening and was much enjoyed by those who came with us in April. On the Monday evening there will be a free-of-charge ceilidh to which everyone will be invited. This was another superb night and everyone tired themselves out dancing to the Mackay Ceilidh Band.

The most important point is that this show is as different as possible from any other trade show, with one exception - that we all do business and get orders!

The first round of stand allocations will be done at the end of August, if you have not already received an application form you can either get in touch and one will be posted out to you or you can download the relevant information and a form from the website.

I hope you feel that you can join us in what is proving to be THE show for Scottish producers
