EDEN COURT EDUCATION PRESENTS

THE LYRE TREE

FRIDAY 21 & SATURDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 8.30PM

AT THE NESS ISLANDS CENTRAL ARENA, INVERNESS

Eden Court Education’s magical family show The Lyre Tree will be the first performance event in the Ness Islands’ newly created central arena.

Combining theatrical spectacle and music, The Lyre Tree is designed to display Inverness at its most earthy, spiritual, and inclusive.

Audiences will wind their way through the Ness Islands to find a beautiful clearing where the Lyre Tree will be revealed.

The story features a cast of animal characters such as Ash Crow and Madame Stoat who are gathering for a Midsummer Night’s meeting. There they will decide on the majick and spells needed to protect their environment from being concreted over by the grassers and grabbers.

This enchanting event is aimed at a family audience and is suitable for children aged 8 years and over.

Eden Court Arts Education staff are working with young performers from local drama groups for this project. Based on an original idea and illustration by Amanda Batty, The Lyre Tree was written by Ruaridhi Buicheoch who is also the project’s musical director.

Weather permitting; performances will take place on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 September at 8.30pm at the Ness Islands. If the weather is inclement, the performances will move to The Spectrum, Inverness.

The Lyre Tree is an Eden Court Education event and is supported by Highland 2007. Tickets can be purchased from Eden Court Box Office on 01463 234234.
