FATBOY SLIM who wowed fans at the inaugural Rock Ness makes a hugely anticipated return as one of Saturday’s headliners. Acts joining the superstar DJ across the Main Stage, Clash Arena and other bespoke areas include Dundee’s raucous rockers THE VIEW in this their only Scottish summer festival appearance, pioneering German electro punksters DIGITALISM who will be performing live and THE CUBAN BROTHERS.
The stellar line up continues with a double Scottish festival exclusive and Rock Ness coup, featuring two of the UK’s biggest live rock acts; RAZORLIGHT and EDITORS. Joining these music heavyweights will be Brazilian dance popsters CSS, fast rising indie favourites THE CRIBS and the incredible HADOUKEN!, hailed by many as defining the sound of a new generation.
Rock Ness favourites 2MANYDJS make a welcome return with their expanded increased capacity Radiosoulwax arena and DAVID GUETTA will also be flying in to host his legendary F**K ME I’M FAMOUS Ibiza club night in an exclusive arena.
The inimitably cool ROISIN MURPHY promises to dazzle Rock Ness fans and joining the charismatic songstress will be a live performance from the glorious SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO. Also making a very special appearance is legendary Chicago house DJ FELIX DA HOUSECAT, one who can truly claim his place amongst the dance music elite.
Organisers have confirmed a string of top acts have still to be announced very soon, including further headline acts.
Once again, Rock Ness will continue to showcase the finest unsigned breakthrough music talent across the weekend via the GoNORTH Xposure stage. The stars of today playing with the stars of tomorrow! Adding to the festival fun will be the return of the popular Nesstival arena brought especially to The Highlands by the award-winning Bestival which
will include the fashion-fabulous dressing up tent, whacko Lost in Sound experience, Bollywood Cocktail Bar plus loads of other fun surprises. And with a host of other new on-site areas including Black Isle Pub and The Whisky Bar the Rock Ness weekend hospitality offering promises to be a suitably stylish affair.
Rock Ness, now firmly established as one of the most hotly anticipated summer music fixtures, is being staged this year on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June. For the third year it will take place on the shores of iconic Loch Ness, outside the village of Dores, four miles south-west of Inverness.
A dedicated campsite will be in place. Situated adjacent to the main site, festival goers can soak up the beauty of the ancient surrounding forests as well as enjoying panoramic views of mystical Loch Ness. Weekend tickets with camping cost £115.00 (subject to booking fee). The campsite will host a wide range of food concessions and a
round-the-clock café.
A dedicated pan-Scotland coach service will be operated by Citylink with shuttle buses from Inverness to Dores. Car parking will also be available adjacent to the site.
Further information on the above can be found at www.rockness.co.uk from Friday 25 January.
Rock Ness is presented by Loudsound, producers of Creamfields and the award-winning Isle of Wight boutique festival Bestival, and co promoters of Knowsley Hall music festival, and Slingshot, the Highland-based promoters behind the Belladrum, Loopallu and GoNORTH music festivals. Xfm is the official broadcast radio partner.

“After the success of last year, we can’t wait to open the gates for Rock Ness 2008 and get the show started.
Norman is back which is going to be great. He’s been chomping at the bit to come back since 2006 and its going to tough keeping him calm until June 7th!
There are loads of other massive acts playing this year including Razorlight, The View and Editors alongside CSS, Simian Mobile Disco and Digitalism. We have got an amazing DJ line-up as well. Rock Ness favourites 2manydjs are back with a bigger capacity arena and some amazing guests. David Guetta has agreed to bring Ibiza’s coolest club
night to the Highlands and Felix Da Housecat is already pencilled in as a must see artist at the festival.
With all these acts as well as lots of new attractions and on site bars and pubs we are sure its going to be the best Rock Ness yet.”
