Coast is a new annual visual arts festival, which will be held for the first time in Banff and Macduff over the holiday weekend of 23rd to 26th May 2008. The festival, which has support from Aberdeenshire Council, Scottish Enterprise Grampian and EventScotland, seeks to deliver a nationally and internationally important annual visual arts festival to attract increased visitors to the Banffshire Coast.
The festival is currently seeking artists from the North East of Scotland in various disciplines of the visual arts: painters, sculptors/sculptresses, ceramicists, jewellers and photographers, to exhibit and sell work at an affordable art fair, which is taking place as one of the main attractions to the festival.
The fair will be based at Macduff Town Hall; a prominent building in a central harbour location with free on-road parking.
An upstairs area will be professionally converted to provide exhibition space for 26 artists through the installation of a shell scheme of interlocked panels, providing approx 12 square meters of MDF board display area per artist.
Set up will take place from the morning of Friday 23 May. The event will open from that evening with a private view. Closedown times are awaiting confirmation, but are likely to be on the morning of Monday 26 May.
There will be a 30% commission on all sales and in return we will supply you with the space, refreshments, card payment options for customers and marketing.
We are looking for a balanced representation of various visual art disciplines, as detailed above. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a note of interest and samples of your work (referrals to websites are acceptable) by Friday 29 February, to Danielle Daglan at:
