Those many people who have been eagerly awaiting THE KERRACHER MAN by Eric MacLeod will not be disappointed when it appears later this month. News of the launches at Inverkirkaig, Ullapool and Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, is now available on the re-edited web site, as is Sir John Lister-Kaye’s (author of SONG OF THE ROLLING EARTH and much more) ringing endorsement.

Also on the web site is news of two more books in the pipeline. BETWEEN WEATHERS by Ron McMillan (foreword by Aly Bain) will be the first original travelogue of Shetland in over 150 years. Written with a delightfully light touch this book will be a landmark on the Islands’ literary and social scene for at least another 150 years! The book will appear in early June with launches in Shetland and elsewhere.

SCOTTISH PRINTED BOOKS by Antony Kamm celebrates the 500th anniversary of printing in Scotland. Published in partnership with the National Library of Scotland it will be available at the NLS exhibition Imprentit in Edinburgh from late June. It will also be available for internet purchase through this web site.

For those who do not already know we are delighted to announce that SHADOW BEHIND THE SUN by Remzije Sherifi has been short listed for the Sundial Scottish Arts Council First Book of the Year Award. We understand that this is the biggest literary prize in Scotland and the third biggest in the UK. It follows on the heels of her short listing for the Saltire Society Award not long ago.

THE RADICAL FIELD by Tony McManus and our two Gaelic novellas, by Floraidh MacDonald and Michael Newton, have gone to reprint and WHITE RIVER by Jamie Whittle isn’t far away – not many ‘first editions’ left.

Please visit the web site now and don’t forget to enter the book hinterlands. More great books are in the pipeline along with improvements in our working systems (including this bulletin), so please keep coming back.
