This weekend, 15th and 16th March, Busta House in Brae will host a Singer/ Songwriter workshop, culminating in a performance on Sunday night.
Bryan Peterson, Shetland Arts Music Development Officer - “The aim of the workshops is to bring together lyricists, musicians, composers and songwriters and give them the opportunity to collaborate in a relaxed and creative environment.”
“The Chase”, who played their debut gig at the Lerwick Museum on Tuesday 11th March, first met during previous Shetland Arts’ songwriting events. Lead singer Chris Dyer “has been writing songs like fury ever since the workshops”.
Donald Anderson, Literature Development Officer and singer songwriter will facilitate the weekend, starting at 10 am on Saturday morning, running into the evening and starting again at 10am on Sunday morning.
On Sunday at 7.30pm in the Long Room of Busta there will be a free informal open evening for anyone interested in hearing the songwriters’ creations.
